Kerusi DUN Ijok
KUALA SELANGOR, 28 April: Barisan Nasional (BN) mengekalkan kerusi Dewan Undangan Negeri (DUN) Ijok dengan majoriti 1,850 undi apabila calonnya K. Parthiban menewaskan calon Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim pada pilihan raya kecil (PRK) hari ini.
Parthiban, 39, memperoleh 5,884 undi manakala Abdul Khalid, 61, memperoleh 4,034 undi.
BN juga berjaya meningkatkan majoriti undi pada kali ini berbanding majoriti 1,649 undi pada pilihan raya umum 2004.
Sebanyak 10,049 orang daripada 12,272 pemilih, atau 81.88 peratus, telah mengundi. Ini bermakna PRK Ijok mencatatkan peratusan keluar mengundi paling tinggi dalam sejarah PRK yang pernah diadakan di negara ini.

Datuk, I feel that those in BN, responsible for preparing the daily assessments,are not doing their job professionally. They may have been influenced by the opposition's prowess from day one of the campaigining period. These 'intelligent officers of BN may be trying to play safe by giving low rated even negative assesments to the director of BN election so as to get more funds or other obvious reasons!!
From the start I have been telling my Umno friends not to panic, because I still trust the traditional BN voters! These die-hards will not just easily give their votes to the opposition. They will swim or sink with BN,. It has been proven over the years , that who is the candidate does not matter much to the traditional BN voters, unless if BN fielded the unwanted! This is applicable to most constituencies in west coast of Malaysia. For Kelantan, Trengganu and part of Pahang may not apply because most of the constituencies are 'touch and go' situation where it involve alot of aggressive campaingns by both sides to woo the support.
To me, the ability of BN to preserve its win in IJOK was through sheer hard work of every BN members headed by DS Najib.There was mo sign of complacency shown by the BN machinery. This is the strength of BN! Well done DS Najib , your perseverence shown throughout the Ijok by-election is examplary and worthwhile. Although you became the main target of character assassination , you remained steadfast and unweavered.
My suggestion is for the police or AG's chamber to summon Anuar Ibrahim to give further statements over his allegations of DS NAjib's involvement in Mongolian girl's case.Things uttered by him on this case throughout the campaign deemed to be new evidences .If he couldn't substantiate his allegations, then some form of punitive actions to be taken!
Food for thought: Umno/BN should have an effective intelligence outfit deployed not only in by-election but also GE in order to strengthen the campaign machinery. Well done BN !
